Silver Valley Mold’s Disinfection vs. Hydrogen Peroxide
Because the disinfection that we use includes Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) we get asked why not just use hydrogen peroxide rather than a specially blended formula. Hydrogen peroxide has been a semi-effective anti microbial cleaning agent for years, but with new technology we can now do even better. Hydrogen peroxide is a basic oxidizer with selective killing ability, this allows for bacterial resistance to occur. Our solution uses the blend of it’s ingredients to it’s advantage as well as oxidation and oligodynamics. Effectively halomist attacks the cell membrane, DNA and enzymes resulting in effective killing with no possibility of resistance.
Hydrogen peroxide is considered to be unstable and highly reactive which stems from the peroxide’s 0-0 bond. The instability increases exponentially as it’s temperatures increases. On the contrary, halomist’s formula is 3x more thermally stable than basic hydrogen peroxide. At 212F halosil releases three times less oxygen than hydrogen peroxide.
At a baseline, hydrogen peroxide tends to breakdown rapidly in the presence of organic material such as proteins, dust, carbonates, etc. To be effective and maintain microbiological control, large amounts need to be used. Studies show that halosil can replace hydrogen peroxide at a 1:5 ratio.
So by now you might be thinking that our disinfectant is pretty heavy duty and how is this marketed as being safe in our living space? Our favorite aspect of this disinfectant and why it is the only one we use is that like hydrogen peroxide, the solution does break down into oxygen. We use testing strips inside your home or work building to guarantee proper disinfection levels. Next we use a monitoring system to ensure levels are 100% safe before allowing access back into the space. As always, no residue or chemicals left on surfaces, no chemicals left in the air and absolutely no odor.
